July 2009
For over six years I have worked as an environmental hydrogeologist for small consulting firms in Portland, Oregon. My responsibilities have ranged from field work (with hazardous waste training), to project and team management, to database development and support. My expertise includes environmental remediation and monitoring as well as clean water supply and aquifer storage and recovery (ASR), and I have worked with a wide range of federal and state government regulators and municipalities.
In addition to my work in geology, I have extensive expertise with computer programming, software development, and database design and management. My interest in computers began in 2000, when I worked as an interactive voice response (IVR) engineer for a small start-up. Since then, I have worked as an independent consultant supporting Oracle and MS-SQL database design and development for local clients, and I continue to build small websites with some programmatic underpinnings. In my current job as an environmental consultant, I work regularly with Microsoft Access.
Before beginning my professional career, I guided and instructed sea kayak trips from Monterey, California. I continue to paddle long and short boats, kayaks or canoes, including seasonal coaching for a flatwater sprint kayak team in Portland. I am a BCU 5 star-trained, coach 2.
In September, my partner is relocating to Munich, and I am looking for opportunities that will allow me to join her. For more information, please contact me (below). My detailed CV is available here (PDF résumé), and here's a copy in MS Word Thank you!
